Choco-Hazelnut Baked Oatmeal

‘Nutella’ Choco-Hazelnut Baked Oatmeal


INGREDIENTS

For the oatmeal:

50g rolled oats

1tbsp chopped (roasted for a lovely taste) hazelnuts

2-3tbsp cacao powder

1tsp baking powder

1tsp sweetener eg stevia

1/2tsp each of ground nutmeg, cinnamon and turmeric (I promise you can’t taste them – they’re just good for your health)

150ml hazelnut milk

1 tbsp Chocolate Hazelnut spread

1/2 mashed banana
Suggestions for decoration:

Fresh fruits eg strawberries, apricots, blueberries

1/2 sliced banana

1 tbsp Almond Butter

1 square of chocolate

A chewy bar cut into small squares


METHOD

1. Preheat oven to 170oC

2. Combine dry ingredients for the oatmeal in a heatproof bowl.

3. Stir in the milk, then the mashed banana and chocolate hazelnut spread, until everything is combined and the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

4. Bake oatmeal in the oven for 15-20mins (the longer you leave it, the more cake-like the oatmeal will become)!

5. Remove carefully from oven, let cool for a few minutes then top with whatever you desire and enjoy!
